The song idea came from a dream I had. It affected me more than I thought it would. It brought back a lot of real memories and emotions I wasn’t prepared to feel again.I remember the overriding feeling when I woke up that morning was one of sadness.The dream detailed a real break up and I think the sadness came from a place of realisation that the relationship in question that I thought had been a stepping stone to real happiness for someone who couldn’t find it with me wasn’t the case. I didn’t wake up with a longing to go back to that time but more a feeling that the relationship had lost some of its meaning for me because of what she was going through. It also taught me that there aren’t happy endings for everyone...
